We have coached students in SJC for over 15 years, but we didn’t call it coaching. So, what’s the difference between teaching, training, and coaching?
TEACHING
The teacher (or the book) selects new language and “gives” to the student. Most schools focus only on teaching.
TRAINING
This is practice. You know the language more or less, now you practice to get confident and fluent, for example in a conversation with the teacher.
COACHING
You explore, discover, and grow. For example, in a simulated job interview you get feedback and suggestions and you experiment to find your personal best answers. The teacher facilitates, the focus is you.
