Happy Christmas Holiday Homework Ideas

2019 is almost finished and I can't believe it. Where did the year go! 🏁

Classes start again January 6th, so here are some suggestions to stay in contact with English during the holidays 😇

Reading
There are some good articles here.

Listening and watching
Do you love Netflix? 📺

Try this. Choose a short show, a comedy, maybe a documentary, something "realistic". Choose a scene that you really liked. Watch with, and then without subtitles. Write down the words that call your attention. Then, go back and check in the subtitles.

Culture
Search for "British Culture" on Youtube. There are 100s of videos to watch.

I found videos about British History, how to be polite, weddings (think: Four Weddings and a Funeral).

One that I really liked was What is British Culture? It's a live recording of a teacher talking to advanced English class in a British University.

And just for you to know, the first one that appeared? 50 weird and confusing facts about British life and culture! 🤔

IMPORTANT
Don't forget, you can watch on Youtube with automatic subtitles and also slow the video (0.75) if it's difficult.

Grammar and Vocabulary
We always recommend the BBC Learning English site. There is so much stuff to improve your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and more. We like the mini-courses for lower-intermediateintermediateupper-intermediate, and "towards advanced".

Or try 6 Minute English. 100s of lessons you can do in, well, errr..., six minutes... 🤗
